July 4th

We received a whole bunch of great close-out wines just before the fourth of July - of course, we tasted some over the holiday.  The first was a very strangely packaged bottle of Duemilia Chianti.  The wine really was excellent.  Interestingly, we brought it to a family outing several days after our initial tasting.  It had been pumped up at the wine desk - amazingly, it retained its vibrance.  Not bad for an 11 year old Chianti.  Of course, it had been blessed by Pope John Paul II.  We only have 18 of these bottles - priced at $39.99 for a 1.5 liter bottle.  They were released at a price over $150.00 each.  I can't say that they are worth that much - but, I can say they are a steal now.

Also drank an older vintage of Clos Du Bois Marlstone - an older, long gone close-out.  Really nice, and got better on the second glass.  Unfortunately, it was gone quickly because it would have been even better if we had the time to let it  open up.

Stop in and check out these closeouts, as they will be gone fast.

Hope you all had a great 4th, and didn't get too bitten up by the mosquitos.

Take care,

Adam
