Tony Misses Beer.
Over the past 2 1/2 months I've had some health issues that has kept me from beer, ARRRRGH! And during this time some new beers have come out that I have had to buy and long to taste. But I can't , atleast not for now. So here they are, Sam Adams imperial stout. One of three in Sams Imperial series, they also offer the DoubleBock,an old favorite, and an Imperial White. The white I was told is very creamy with citrus tastes and an alcohol warmth in the finsh. The stout I cannot wait to try seeing Sam has always done well with the bigger beers(UTOPIA!). Also out is the oak aged series from Southern Tier. There are three in the series, the store currently has two. Series One sounds like a big hopped IPA aged in oak. And series two a malty ale with tastes of vanilla and roasted malts, more my bag. Then there is a third where they blend the two, which could be a very well balanced beer, but we don't have that one yet. Still available, and one I bought a whole case of, Dogfish Head Palo Santo Maroon. This is an Imperial brown ale aged in Palos Santo wood from Paraguay. This beer is Fantastic! Strong caramel and vanilla flavors make this one so smooth and tastey it goes down fast. But at 12% abv it knock for a loop if you don't watch it. Well hopefully soon I can drink again and tell you how the others taste. Tony.
