Reserve Red Wine Tasting 2009

I had a wonderful time at our Reserve Red Wine Tasting this year!!!  I hope all of you did as well.  I enlisted my wife to help check people in, which allowed me to roam a little more and sample more of the fantastic wines.  I do not think there was one that I tried and did not like.  Here are some of my favorites (at least that I remember):  Altamurra Cabernet - I have commented on this wine before.  I think it received 95 points from the Wine Spectator and it was deserved.  Owen & Roe Dubrul Cabernet - a friend of mine described it as the best domestic Cabernet not grown in California - I think he was right, and we are very limited in what we can get of this wine.  Girard Artistry Blend - I asked Tom to pick out the best at his table and I can't argue the selection.  Kilikanoon Shiraz - at only $19.99, this is a great value wine.  Thanks to Lisa Broman for coming to our tasting from Broman vineyards - all of her wines were spectacular.  Spruce Goose Pinot Noir - I tried this at the end and really enjoyed it as another great $19.99 value from Oregon.  St George Reserve Cab falls into this category as well.  Land's Edge Pinot Noir was the best Pinot I tasted on the evening.  Finally, I have in prior blogs spoken about Shafer Relentless Syrah as I drank this on New Year's Eve - tasting out great and we only had 11 bottles available.

Obviously, I did not try everything - I am interested in the items you liked, as well as anything you did not.  Let us know your thoughts.

Thanks again for attending.
