Had dinner with my friend Bryan last weekend - he grilled filet and skirt steak and asparagus.  It was quite tasty.  My wife made some chocolate cupcakes as well - c'mon - who doesn't like a cupcake?

Anyway, we had a Schrader Beckstoffer Cabernet with dinner.  It was very good, though only available from them by their wine club.  I honestly was not sure it was worth $100 or so.  I think I prefer the Perry Moore which I have commented on earlier.  Maybe next time he will open his Shafer Hillside?

After dessert, we sipped on some Chateau St. Jean Late Harvest Riesling from 1989.  I thought the wine was spectacular and though I was ready to go home, I had a second glass.  This might have been the best dessert wine I have tasted.  When I returned to work, I found that this wine scored a 95.  We still have four bottles left (unless I snag another one) at $29.99.  This is a steal!!!
