Memorial Day
We had some friends over for Memorial Day and tried some new producst. First was the Peaks Nut Brown Beer. It was a little hoppy for me, but my neighbor Bryan loved it. This is a great value at $9.99/case while it lasts - regularly $8.99/6 pack. I then opened a bottle of SA Prum Blue Slate Riesling. Nice apple in here and very refreshing for a fairly hot day (partuclarly compared with yesterday and today). This was great to sit outside and sip on. And our neighbor Aufrey sipped on the rest of the bottle (how are you feeling today). This bottle sells for $10.99 (regularly $17.99). We then opened a bottle of the 2004 Mon Pra Italian blend, on sale at $24.99 from over $50.00. A great Nebbiolo blend, it opened up great and tasted well with our BBQ. Finally, we opened a bottle of Chateau Coutet Sauternes. What a great way to end the day. Once again, Audrey went to town on the bottle. Great fruit and sweetness, went great with the Ice Cream cake we ate and especially the mixed berries. I think this bottle is $29.99, and it should be twice that price.
