Radio Appearance 3/14 - Part 2
We almost forgot St. Patrick's Day!!! Instead if doing wine, we went with an Irish theme on the show. We tasted Clontarf and Connemara Irish Whiskeys. They are produced at the Cooley Distillery - the only Irish owned distillery in Ireland. The only others (a total of 3) are Midelton (makes Jameson) and Bushmills (makes Bushmills obviously). The Clontarf ($19.99) had a sweet toffee aroma and tasted with a hint of Vanilla. Very nice. The Connemara ($41.99), which is a single malt, has peat added, which is uncommon in Irish Whiskey. It is a wonderful whiskey, well balanced earth and smoke tones. A real winner!!!
We then tasted Bunratty Meade ($16.99), which is a honey wine. It was sweet and very tasty. I never had it before, and enjoyed it. I would probably drink it with fruit or chocolate - after dinner with dessert. Overall, we had a great time preparing for St. Patrick's Day.
If you want to try these items, stop in - I still have the open bottles.
