Radio Appearance 2/29

We are almost ready for our next radio show on Cocktails with Nick and Jerry.  Adam will be bringing a nice Vouvray (Chenin Blanc) and Rick will be joining us with a couple beers.  He is thinking Dogfish Head.  Tune in or call in - 847-244-1220 with any questions or comments.  This show is really a lot of fun and Nick and Jerry are hilarious.  Even if you can't listen to us on Fridays, I would highly recommend it Monday-Thursday as well.

The first item we tasted at WKRS was the Monsieur Touton Vouvray (Chenin Blanc), which sells for $12.99. I found it very crisp, had a nice citrus nose, and finished clean and dry. A very nice wine for the summer.

We then tried a couple beers, neither of which I have tasted before. The first was Flying Dog Doggie Style (I didn't name it so don't blame me) which is a pale ale and sells for $9.99 per 6 pack. I found this to have an intense orange nose. The beer was pleasant, not real heavy, but with some hoppiness (or is that happiness). The second beer we tried was Three Floyds Dreadnaught Imperial Pale Ale which sells for $10.99/22oz bottle. This brew also had citrus on the nose, but not as much orange. I am not really into so much hops. If you love hops, you would love this as it had much more than the Doggie Style, but it was a bit too much for my taste.

Now, it's time to decide what to sample next week.
