15th Annual Reserve Wine Tasting

Hi,

This is our first attempt at blogging.  We hope that everyone that attended enjoyed our recent Reserve Red Wine Tasting at the Lehmann Mansion.  However, we know that we can always improve.  So, we welcome your comments - both good and bad - here.  Thanks to everyone who attended.  If you wanted to attend, but couldn't, don't miss our Top Ten tasting on March 8 from 12:00-4:00 PM in the store.  As you might have guessed, we will be tasting the Top Ten Reserve Red wines, plus we will add in some other treats.  Hope to see you there!!!

Larry, Steve and Adam

Just to get things started, I really enjoyed the Belle Glos Pinot Noir Taylor Lane and the L'Aventure Optimus. There were a lot of other great wines at the tasting as well. Anyone else want to share?

Wow, where do I begin? Our Top 4 Cabs were the '99 BV George LaTour, '98 Silver Oak, '03 Volker-Eislie and finally the '04 Altamura. Our 2 favorite Zins were the '04 C.G. di Aria and the '03 Easton Fiddletown--both were outstanding! We really liked the Saurus Sparkling Torrontos and the '06 Cartlidge & Brown Sauv. Blanc! But, other than the '99 BV our hands-down favorite was, believe it or not, the '06 Belle Valle Pinot Noir! We're looking forward to the Top 10 event in March!

Outstanding ! Great job Larry et al.
The mansion is a terrific location and the wine selections were top shelf. The one suggestion I could provide is improving access to the tables. Most were OK but a few locations created a bottleneck. I guess in a perfect world everyone would not camp in front of a table and make room for others, but until we get to that point improving access is the only suggestion.
    Thanks for a great evening.

Larry, Steve, etc - GREAT job with the tasting! The location was just gorgeous - LOVED the fireplaces! Our only "logistical" suggestion is to separate the tasting tables (one rep per table, not 2) - it got too crowded with everyone trying to get around the tables. REALLY great wines throughout, but the stand-outs were Matt, Jen and Tom C. We had a lovely time and can't wait for next year's Reserve Red!

This was our 8th tasting and it was very enjoyable. The Mansion is a great location. I also agree with some of the other posts that the tables, with 2 reps at each, seemed small and it was difficult to get a taste and back away. Other than that, everything was awesome! Thank you for another great tasting.
